Takagi has been making tankless water heaters worldwide since 1952. A Takagi tankless water heater is built with safety features, quality materials and excellent service.
The Takagi company has committed itself to improving technology and customer service. They are an official Energy Star Partner of the Residential Water Heater Program. Their awards include: Energy Star Partner and US Green Building Council Member.
They take their responsibility seriously. Their products:
* have an energy efficiency between 82%-95% * have an energy savings of 20%-50% * are made from recyclable materials (95%+) * meet the low NOx standards (South Coast Air Quality Management District) * have a reduced CO2 of 30%-50%
A Takagi tankless water heater will produce less carbon dioxide than a traditional water heater with the tank water storage. According to the Takagi company, if you use an LP Model (propane gas) tankless water heater, the reduction of the carbon dioxide of that one unit, would equal planting 50 eucalyptus trees. A significant step for a healthy earth. The Takagi company has many accomplishments such as being the first company to: * enter the North American market with their tankless water heater products * have a product with a thermal efficiency rating up to 95% (T-H1 Model) * convert your unit to a direct vent unit with their T-K3 Model * use a safety device called the air-fuel ratio rod They have many tankless water heater models to choose from:
* T-KJr2 is available in two models, the T-Kjr2-IN and the T-Kjr2-OS which have a maximum GPM (gallons per minute) of 6.6. * T-K4-IN/OS - This model has a maximum GPM of 8.0. It has a power venting system which is built-in and was specifically designed to be used for installations out-of-doors. The T-K4OS makes installation a littler easier by not requiring additional vent caps or Category III venting. If the unit is to be installed indoors, then the Model T-K4IN can be used with a DV kit which is available at Takagi. * T-K3 is a powerful and versatile unit for a residence. It has been called the Revolutionary T-K3 because it offers the "Easy Link" which means you can connect up to 4 units without using a controller unit. Another feature of the T-K3 is that if there needs to be a conversion to a direct vent model, this model can do that. * T-D2-IN/OS - This model was designed for commercial usage (light applications). The T-D2-IN/OS has an outdoor model which has a maximum flow rate 10.0 GPM. This model also has all the features associated with the powerful Revolutionary T-K3. * T-H2S can be purchased in models with direct vent only or outside only venting. This Takagi tankless water heater unit has a energy efficiency up to 0.90 EF rated by the tankless industry and designed for residential use. * T-H2 model has the same features as the T-H2S; however, besides being used for residential usage, it can also be used for commercial applications (light).
A rule-of-thumb for determining the size of the unit (for an accurate size assessment contact a Takagi representative):
* The T-Kjr can run one shower and one applicance like a washer or dishwasher at the sametime. * If more units are needed, the T-K3 can be installed with up to three other T-K3 units. * If you need units to handle four showers at the sametime, then the T-M1 and T-H1 are the units to check-out.
IMPORTANT: A Takagi tankless water heater needs to installed by a licensed plumber and serviced by a licensed plumber. A licensed gas fitter and professional service technician ha to be used. If there is an installation or operation not done properly, or the installation done by an unqualified individual, then the warranty will be void.
The Takagi company warrants their products for 10 years on the copper heat exchanger. On all other parts - 5 years, with the exception of the fuses. For commercial usage, the warranty is 3 years for the parts and heat exchanger.
The Takagi tankless water heater has been redesigned and improved through technological advances over the years. The company strives to continue to bring products that are energy efficient, long lasting and cost effective to its customers.
